Rev. • ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ • Crowned and mantled shield bearing the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Greece; below, 1 ΔΡΑΧΜH flanked by the privy marks cornucopia (for the Mint Director) on the left and, on the right, a fasces (for the Engraver General, Jean Lagrange, 1880-1896). Charioteer driving quadriga walking to right, holding goad in his right hand and reins in both; above, Nike flying right to crown the driver; in exergue, ketos to right. Rev. Σ-ΥRΑΚΟΣΙΟ-Ν Diademed head of Arethusa to right, wearing pendant earring and pearl necklace; around, four dolphins swimming to right. Boehringer 512 (V269/R364). Boston MFA 367 = Warren 330. SNG Munich 1015. SNG ANS 164 (all from the same dies). Lightly toned. Obverse struck from a very slightly worn die; minor porosity, otherwise, very fine.
