SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos VI Dionysos, 144-142 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34 mm, 16.52 g, 12 h), Antioch on the Orontes, dated to the Seleukid year ΘΞΡ = 169 = 144/3 BC. Radiate and diademed head of Antiochos VI to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ / ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ ΔΙΟΝΥΣΟΥ The Dioskouroi, with couched spears, riding prancing horses to left; in the field to right, TPY above monogram of ΑΠ over ΣTA; beneath horses, ΘΞP; all within a laurel wreath adorned with ivy and ears of grain. HGC 9, 1032. SC 2000.2b. SMA 231. Attractive, clear and struck on a broad flan. Minor areas of roughness, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
