IMP CAES C VIBIVS TREBONI[A]N[V]S GALLVS AVG Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Trebonianus Gallus to right. Rev. ADV-ENTV S AVGG Trebonianus Gallus and Volusian on horseback to left, each raising their right hand in greeting; before them, Victory advancing to left, holding a wreath in her extended right hand and a palm branch with her left; behind the emperors, two soldiers, in military attire, with the one on the right holding a spear over his right shoulder and a shield in his left hand; in the background, a vexillum and two signa. An impressive and massive bimetallic medallion, with a lovely green patina and a bold portrait of Gallus in high relief. Light smoothing and reverse slightly doubled, otherwise, good very fine.

Evans, Ars Classica XVII, 3 October 1934, 1697 (consigned directly by Evans) and Ars Classica X, 15 June 1925, 1768 (consigned on behalf of Evans through Baldwin's, originally acquired by Evans in 1905 from the Phanariot scholar-dealer, Dr. Constantin Macridi Pasha, 1825-1909).
