CRETE. Itanos. Circa 350-320 BC. Obol (Silver, 11 mm, 0.88 g). The sea-god Glaukos, bearded and with a fish tail, holding a trident with his upraised right hand and raising his left before him. Rev. Star of fourteen rays. Svoronos, Numismatique 11-12. Very rare. Nicely toned, well-struck and of fine late Classical style. Nearly extremely fine.

From a European-American collection formed in the 1990s, beginning at the time of the Hunt sales, and from the Gustave Durufle Collection, Rollin & Feuardent 9-11 May 1910, 464.
