MYSIA. Lampsakos. Circa 390-330 BC. Diobol (Silver, 12 mm, 1.12 g, 6 h). Janiform female heads, each crowned with a grain ear, wearing a circular earring. Rev. ΛΑΜ - ΨΑ Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet, her long hair falling down the back of her neck; in the field to right, before Athena's face, crescent with points to left . Gaebler, Die Silberprägung von Lampsakos, Nomisma XII, pl. II, 16. Very rare. Of splendid style, beautifully toned and well-centered. About extremely fine.
